Arlington is a city in Tarrant County, Texas within the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area.

Arlingtonis aprincipal cityin theU.S.state ofTexas, located inTarrantCounty. It is part of theMid-Citiesregion of the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlingtonmetropolitan area, approximately12 miles (19km)east ofdowntown Fort Worthand20 miles (32km)west ofdowntownDallas.

Arlington is home to TheUniversity of Texas at Arlington, a doctoral-granting research institution, theArlington Assembly plant used byGeneral Motors, theNuclear Regulatory Commission Region IV,Texas Health Resources, andAmerican Mensa. Additionally, Arlington hosts theTexas Rangers'Globe Life Park in Arlington, and theDallas Cowboysat theAT&T Stadium, the International Bowling Campus (which houses theUnited States Bowling Congress,International Bowling Museumand theInternational Bowling Hall of Fame), and thetheme parksSix Flags Over Texas(the original Six Flags) andHurricane Harbor.
