Palawan, officially theProvince of Palawan, is anisland provinceof thePhilippinesthat is located in theMimaroparegion. It is the largest province in the country in terms of total area of jurisdiction. Its capital isPuerto PrincesaCity, but it is governed independently from the province. Considered as the last frontier of the Philippines, the province boasts many splendid beaches and resorts and it is where theTubbataha Reef National Marine Parkand thePuerto Princesa Subterranean River two of theUNESCO World Heritage Sites, are located.
